Scunthorpe is a young town with an iron heart. It grew up fast once local ironstone began to be dug in 1859, with iron made from 1864 and steel from 1891, and it became a borough in 1936. For all the industry, it's ringed by flat farmland, and the River Trent runs about a mile to the west.

Where the villages grew together

Scunthorpe grew by taking in the villages around it, and each still has lofts to empty: a box room in Brumby, a garage in Crosby, a whole house in Frodingham. Posting the job is free, and licensed, insured local carriers send you quotes. You pay once your waste has been collected, and every job comes with a waste transfer note, kept in your account.

In good company

20% of what we earn on every job goes to good causes in your local area. Think of Lindsey Lodge Hospice, which gives end-of-life and respite care on Burringham Road, or North Lincolnshire Mind, an independent mental health charity running talking therapies and support groups: that is the kind of local cause the programme exists for.
