Birmingham's story as a market town starts in 1166, around the spot that became the Bull Ring. It grew on thousands of small workshops, each with its own skilled trade, and by 1791 people were calling it the first manufacturing town in the world. Queen Victoria made it a city in 1889. Fancy a view? The Lickey Hills, just south-west of the city, look right out over it.

A thousand trades, one clear-out

A workshop clear-out in the Jewellery Quarter, a garage in Sutton Coldfield, the spare room in Kings Heath you keep meaning to tackle. Post the job for free and licensed, insured local carriers send you quotes. You pay once your waste has been collected, and every job comes with a waste transfer note, kept in your account.
