Wolverhampton is named after Wulfrun, who was granted land here by royal charter in 985. It did well from wool in the Middle Ages, then from lock and key making and iron and brass working, and from the 18th century it was known for japanned ware and steel jewellery. A town for most of its history, it became a city in 2001.

Lock, key and a lot of boxes

Emptying a garage in Wednesfield is one job; a whole house in Finchfield or a loft in Fallings Park is another. Whatever the size, posting is free, and licensed, insured local carriers send you quotes. You pay once your waste has been collected, and every job comes with a waste transfer note, kept in your account.

20% of what we earn on every job goes to good causes in your local area. Around the city, Compton Care gives round-the-clock palliative and bereavement support to people living with life-limiting conditions, and the Grand Theatre is a registered charity bringing shows to the city. Both are the kind of local causes the programme is for. Find out more about our 20% pledge
