Walsall's name comes from "Walh halh", the valley of the Welsh. It was a small market town by the 13th century, with a weekly Tuesday market from 1220, and it grew into a busy industrial town making saddles, chains, buckles and plated ware. The Leather Museum keeps that story alive, and the Arboretum has been the town's park since 1874.

Saddle-makers' town, overstuffed sofas

Out with the old sofa in Pelsall, the boxes in a Bloxwich garage or the contents of a whole house in Caldmore. Posting the job is free, and licensed, insured local carriers send you quotes. You pay once your waste has been collected, and every job comes with a waste transfer note, kept in your account.

Stitched together

20% of what we earn on every job goes to good causes in your local area. Two local examples of the kind of causes the programme is for: the Walsall FC Foundation, which uses sport and exercise to make a difference to people across Walsall, and Walsall U3A, where people no longer in full-time work share learning, interest groups and social events.
